As part of the fast-track-procedure for skilled workers, you can bring your family with you without additional fees. The family reunification procedure is simplified and shortened in the fast-track procedure for skilled workers compared to family reunification in the regular procedure.

How does it work?

  • Your employer starts the fast-track procedure for skilled workers with us.
  • In the signed agreement it can be specified that you plan a family reunification. For this, the employer also needs the corresponding authorisation for the family members.
  • If you do not yet know exactly when your family will join you in Germany, you are welcome to inform us and apply for family reunification in the course of the further process —at the latest until the granting of the preliminary approval.
  • Your family can enter Germany with you or up to 6 months after you without any additional handling charge.
  • The handling fee of 411,00 € also includes the family reunification process.

Who counts as family?

  • Wife or husband
  • Registered same-sex partner
  • Minor unmarried children

What is needed?

  • For wife/husband/registered partner a certificate of marriage or a registration in the civil registration office is needed
  • For children birth certificates and proof of custody are needed

Why does the process accelerate the reunification?

  • Your family will be given preferential dates at the embassy for visa applications
